  3. Design Plus Price for Aromapots 2011

Design Plus awards prizes to products which combine particularly durable manufacturing methods with sophisticated additional features.

Consumer goods which combine attractiveness and functionality and which have not yet been on the market for more than two years have the opportunity of being awarded a prize by this renowned jury.

Our aroma pot design has once again been recognised in this context. We were delighted to receive the prize in the cookware category. Do we need any further proof that Sofia Podreka & Katrin Radanitsch from dottings have certainly measured up with their black design?

26 products presented by 20 firms from 11 countries were awarded the Design Plus award at Ambiente 2011 (11 to 15 February) including well-known brands such as Alessi, Le Creuset, Royal VKB and Radius Design.

The 2011 winners
Alessi S.p.A. (Italy), Eagle Products Textil (Germany), Fair Trade Original (The Netherlands), Fruitshop International (Taiwan), Jansen + Co. (The Netherlands), Jiia (China), Joseph Joseph (Great Britain), Kamoi Kakoshi (Japan), Konstantin Slawinski (Germany), Le Creuset (USA), Loveramics (China), Move Collective LLC (USA), Pinetti (Italy), Radius Design (Germany), Riess Kelomat (Austria), Robert Herder (Germany), Roji Associates (Japan), Royal VKB (The Netherlands), tät-tat (Switzerland), Virages (France).

An attractive appearance alone is not sufficient in order to gain a prize. Since 1983, the Design Plus awards have been presented to products which successfully combine attractiveness and functionality.

Design Plus is organised by the “Health and Lifestyle” with the support of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, the Design Council (Frankfurt) and the German Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Berlin).

The winning products are presented at Ambiente at an exhibition in the Galleria. Most of the winning products in 2011 were from the tableware and kitchenware categories and ranged from porcelain to cutlery and practical cooking and household utensils. However, prizes were also awarded to interior decorations and home textiles. A total of 188 firms from 23 countries took part in the competition with over 500 products or product ranges.
