The roots of the family company go back to 1550. At the time, a pan-hammer mill was founded in Ybbsitz in the Lower Austrian cider region. This developed into a flourishing metal working business. Today the 9th generation of the Riess family, Susanne Rieß, Dipl. Ing. Julian Riess and Ing. Friedrich Riess, are managing the company.
In 1922 it started with the enamelling of cookware. In 2011 it acquired the trademark rights to KELOmat, a traditional Austrian brand for pressure cookers and cookware made of stainless steel. The family business became so the only cookware manufacturer in Austria. Its branded products are exported to more than 35 countries worldwide.
Apart from cookware and kitchen aids for the end consumer, the company is also active in the B2B sector.
