The roots of the family company go back to 1550. At the time, a pan-hammer mill was founded in Ybbsitz in the Lower Austrian cider region. The pan-hammer mill developed into a flourishing metalworking business, which has now been owned by the Riess family for nine generations. With Johanna Riess contributing to the company’s leadership, the tenth generation is actively shaping its future.
In 1922 it started with the enamelling of cookware. In 2011 it acquired the trademark rights to KELOmat, a traditional Austrian brand for pressure cookers and cookware made of stainless steel. The family business became so the only cookware manufacturer in Austria. Its branded products are exported to more than 35 countries worldwide.
Apart from cookware and kitchen aids for the end consumer, the company is also active in the B2B sector.
